Woman's Seminar
On Monday, November 9, 2009 Bernardi Auto Group hosted another successful Women’s Car Buying Seminar at Bernardi Honda in Natick. The seminar featured three guest speakers.
Karen Fisher – Bernardi Finance Manager
Karen educated us on what good versus too much credit can mean on a credit report. She listed the agencies to use when checking our credit and to continually check for any discrepancies on these reports. If there is an issue is found it can take some time to correct. We also learned that having Credit Cards is only the first step to creating good credit. She discussed the importance of how paying bills on time can be to a clean credit report. She also discussed the fact that some companies wait while others report right away issue immediately. Karen also explained the importance of a manufacturer’s service contract and the benefits of their coverage on a new or pre-owned vehicle. She closed with the statement that “knowing your budget” before you begin to shop for a vehicle is the best rule of thumb.
Christine Kristoff-Cote - Service Director
Christine began by listing the six most important items to maintain on all vehicles. She included "show and tell" of common maintenance items. She took time to demonstrate to our guests how to properly check a tire's tread depth to determine its safety. The attendees asked many questions and their participation were greatly appreciated.

Paula Fleming Vice President of Communications for the Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Paula began the evening by discussing the information that is available to consumers on line and by phone. There are a host of programs and services that are sponsored by the Better Business Bureau and she provided a brochure with an overview of these as well. She discussed how a consumer may submit a complaint or compliment on a specified business to the Better Business Bureau that would be public information. She also discussed how a complaint against a business can be closed - the Better Business Bureau, the business in question and the consumer must agree on a resolution before it is closed. Paula then explained what the term "Accredited Business" means to a consumer looking for a company to do business with. The folders Paula provided had great tips on what to look for when purchasing a new or used car.
